Antique Organette Music Box with Hand Crank
$195
This antique organette music box “Diana No. 12362.” features a hand-crank mechanism and plays using perforated metal discs or paper rolls. The crank mechanism would feed the paper over a set of air holes; when a perforation passed over a hole, it allowed air to activate a corresponding reed, producing a note. Produced primarily between the late 1870s and early 1900s, it is stamped Budapest and showcases the intricate craftsmanship of early mechanical music devices. The organette offers a charming vintage addition for collectors or display. Needs 4 3/4 disks to play.
