Vintage Red Velvet Upholstered Occasional Chair

This vintage occasional chair is an ebonised Napoleon III style slipper chair, traditionally known in France as a “chauffeuse” or fireside chair – the low seat brings the sitter closer to a fireplace. The backrest features ornate, hand-carved openwork with classical motifs. The red velvet seat and turned, tapered legs on castors add both colour and refined detail, making it a striking addition to layered, traditional, or vintage-inspired interiors. Seat height 37cm.
